Tips for purchasing soundproof doors and windows

  • Detail

Noise pollution in cities has always been a difficult problem for residents. Although the government has also stepped up its crackdown in this regard, many citizens are still dissatisfied. They want to pursue a quieter home environment, so sound proof doors and windows have become the gospel of citizens. However, how to buy sound proof doors and windows and how to isolate indoor noise sources should be started from the following aspects:

1 Material selection of window frames

at present, developers generally use aluminum alloy. But the aluminum alloy is single cavity, and the wall is relatively thin, and the sound is easy to penetrate. In contrast, plastic steel profiles have multiple cavities, and the wall is thicker than aluminum alloy. Sound is more difficult to penetrate from the profile

2. Selection of soundproof strips

developers mostly choose aluminum alloy window frames with rubber soundproof strips or wool soundproof strips, but wool soundproof strips are easy to depilate after a long time of use, and the rubber hardens and ages after a long time of use. Therefore, the sound insulation strip should not only prevent aging but also maintain toughness. At present, there is an imported sound insulation strip on the market. It is wrapped with leather material. It uses sound-absorbing cotton. In this way, it keeps toughness and is not easy to age. It ensures the sealing of the sound leakage point of the window frame

3. The most important thing is the choice of sound insulating glass

there are three main types of glass on the market: insulating glass, laminated glass, and vacuum glass. Companies specializing in sound insulation doors and windows are mostly laminated glass and insulating glass. This kind of glass effect is OK, but it is not ideal to deal with the low-frequency noise produced by large cars or when the speed is fast. Vacuum glass uses the principle that vacuum cannot transmit sound, aiming at the noise of various frequencies. After installation, the noise can be reduced by 30-40 dB. I suggest you look at the actual situation of your home and the environment of your residential area. If the floor is higher than 20 floors and there is no train or large trailer nearby, hollow glass or laminated glass can be considered. The sound insulation effect is almost the same. If the floor is lower and close to the road or viaduct and there are low-frequency noise sources nearby, vacuum glass should be considered to completely solve the noise problem

4. Seal the surrounding frame after installation. When making soundproof windows, you can't make them as big as windows. So you can't put it in. Therefore, some small gaps will be left around the window frame. So be sure to use glass glue to stick around the window after installation. The sealing around seems simple, but you still need to find a professional master to do it to make it perfect
